Carpentry Empty
PostSubject: Carpentry   Carpentry EmptyThu Apr 12, 2007 9:23 pm

To me, carpentry is one of the easiest puzzles, but to some it can be a real pain in the bum. Crying or Very sad Soooo I went on my alt and did some stuffs to help.
Hope you enjoy it. Oh, yea, and I'm not ult, just leg, so if you have something else please post. <3 Wink

----

Here are some little tips which I picked up along the way: 😄

- Place pieces from the outside-in.
- Use the 90 degree peices for large corners
- NEVER waste 'p's (I'll explain what ps are later) on booched holes.

----

Lettering

Each carp piece has a letter assigned to it. Here is the list of pieces and their letters.

Buckets o' Putty

Once in a while, a bucket of putty will appear in your tool box. Do not waste these.

Here are some tips to help stop wasting:

- When you have a hole, with one piece left to fill, wait until the last shake , if you have putty. When you do not place a piece in w hole for a while, it will begin to shake. You have 2 chances, there is a slow shake, and a fast shake. Wait until the fast shake until you use your putty, because you enver know if it might give you the right piece.

- Try to aviod using putty on common peices, like Ps.

Piece Rarity

Most commonCarpentry Rarityjq8Least common

This is an image of the rarity of all the carpentry pieces.
This can be found in Tutorial 6, in the carpentry puzzle.
Notice how the Ps are the most common? Ps can fit in almost any hole, so make sure you don't waste them. The Is are the least common, so try to aviod placing pieces in a way that will require one of these.

Scoring

Once you finish a hole, it will give you a score. A masterpiece is the best score. If you do 2 masterpieces in a row, it will say Masterpiece2. 3 in a row, Masterpiece3 and so on. How high can ye go?

Masterpiece! - No extra pieces used.
Craftsmanship! - One extra piece used.
A Fair Job. - Two extra pieces used.
Sloppy Work. - Three extra pieces used.
A Pig's Breakfast! - Four or more extra pieces used.

Nice Sets and Grain Bonuses

If you complete a hole, and used all the same pieces, you will recieve a nice set bonus. Here is an example of a common nice set, which used the most common piece - Ps.

Well, that's all folks. Wink
Hope it helps you

And make sure if you have anything to add, post Very Happy

On a normal carpentry board there are four boxes that all need filling in, finish the two next to or under/below eachother so you have a bigger oppurtunity to waste the rubbish pieces.

The duty indicator is scored on masterpieces and how many in a row, instead of finishing a MP and booching then starting another MP booch your bad one first so you can make a MP^2

Just one thing to add.

The least of your worries should be to get the grain bonus. It is minimal compared to the masterpiece bonus.

Happy carping!

I know it's probably just because I don't use them - 'cuz despite being rare they don't usually go anywhere - but sometimes I get a box full of X's. Anyway to avoid this, 'cuz this seems a pretty lame way for me to ruin an mp streak.
